Well, after all the
arguments about the new labyrinth on the old bowling green between Queen's
Road and North Road, the official opening has happened. And what a
wonderful day it was! Despite all the sniping in the Daily Mail and
so on, everyone who came to the opening enjoyed it and had fun. There
were over 20 people there for the official opening (I think), and it
was great to see everyone have so much fun. I really enjoyed the
whole experience of travelling, going further, getting a bit lost,
then getting closer, and then reaching the middle. I definitely think
this labyrinth is a good addition to North ward and Aberystwyth.
One of the other things that are great about the project here is wildlife habitats: the posts are obviously popular with birds and wild plants are growing between the lanes already.
It's been a long journey and quite a controversial one at times, but I think the result is great :)
